Responsiblities:
Aaron Thompson was responsible for Commerce.
Ravi Sinha was responsible Power.
Joe Touhey responsiblties included implementing Transportation.
Instructions:
Click on the star the scroll that city from side to side or click the plus and minus to zoom in and zoom out.
Interface Decisions:
Commerce:
There is high unemployment when 5% of the population is unemployed.
When 15% of jobs are unfilled the is is a problem.
When there is 2 stores for every one person bankrupticy is high.
When 1/4 of there population cant be served by stores people starve.
Every person comsumed 1 unit of production any less there are power outages.
When there is 10 times the amount of energy being produced verse the population energy is being wasted.
Transportation:
After the tile is set, double click on the tile to until it is set in desired orientation. Visitor were used for both rotation and discontinuity features.
Power:
Once the tile is set into desired location, powerline automatically align with surrounding tiles. Placed tiles are based on the clicked power tile type, if the user would like to cycle through similar tiles they may do so by simply double clicking on the power line tile. Power assumptions are that power line only attach to the upper left and upper right corners of power plants, sub-stations and solar arrays.
Game Design:
Aging the city will be the apporach. All tiles are not available when the game starts but minimum work is need to gain access to all tile.
Points are given for roads being within 2 tiles of ports and coalmines. Power line have to be next to factories,
stores, and housing in order to gain points. Points are not giving for damaged roads and power lines. Damaged Power
lines and roads and be repaired to continue giving points. Points are deducted for power line being discontinous.
If statistics are in the red points will be deducted otherwise point will be gained. Point are also deducted for
overlapping tiles.
Power lines:
Power lines are discontinous if they do not attach to another power line or to the correct side of a building.
Power lines may attach to:
Cricket/Basketball court - lower right corner
Port - Upper left
Firestation - Upper right
University - Upper left
Heavy Industry - Upper Left
Light Industry - Lower Left
Market - Upper Right
Residential - Upper Left
Windmill - Upper Left and/or Upper Right
As powerlines age they begin to spark. Aging power lines can be restored by selecting the repair option
from the menu and then clicking on the desired tile. If a sparking tile is left unrepair it will eventually
fall over from age and will cause power line discontinuites. The only way to restore the power grid after
a pole has fallen over is to move the broken pole to the trash and replace will a new power line tile.
Coal:
Player recieves 1 point for every 100 tons of coal hauled.
