Favorite Television Shows
When watching television shows, I often look for two key indicators of whether or not I will like the show.
Does make me laugh at situations I could see myself reacting to in real life?
Is there a sophistication to the show's production?
This may make me particular in my tastes, but as a result I have refined my goal when watching TV: be entertained. Each of my favorite shows possess both of these qualifiers.
Casting is another important aspect. The shows were able to find actors that perfectly matched the vision of how the characters "should" behave.
- The Office
- Michael Scott, played by Steve Carell, is the wacky, obnoxiously endearing manager at Dunder Mifflin Scranton. Carell brilliantly portrays the cringe-worthy character that you can't help but love with his assortment of facial expressions and knack for playing a convincing buffon.
- Arrested Development
- Michael Bluth, played by Jason Batemean, is the perennial straight man. In the midst of the absurdity and outrageousness of the Bluth family, Bateman manages to remain as composed, yet understandly frustrated, as anyone would realistically behave. That said, his nuanced portrayal makes one question whether or not he is quite that different from his family after all.
- Freaks and Geeks
- Bill Haverchuck, played by Martin Starr, is possibly the most memorable "Geek", which is saying something considering how unforgettable the group is. Starr teeters above the line of a stereotypical dork, and instead portray's Bill as the well intended TV-junkie whose bland demeanor gives many the wrong impression. The character can be looked at as the fore father to the decade's later nerdy phenomenon, Napoleon Dynamite

Following sports teams is another hobby of mine, and I have several favorite sports teams.
