Perfmon Performance Monitoring Tool

The Perfmon performance monitoring tool reads on-chip performance registers on UltraSPARC processors from Sun Microsystems and PentiumPro processors from Intel which are running the Solaris operating system. It is a very useful tool for studying microprocessor architecture and is used in the CSE 820 Advanced Computer Architecture course here at Michigan State University.

Thanks to Bill Moore of Sun Microsystems for developing Perfmon, and to Ziad Youssfi who ported it to PC-Solaris.
