David B. Knoester

Hi! I'm Dave Knoester (that's Ka-noo-ster), a computer science and EEBB Ph.D. student at Michigan State University. My current research interests include digital and biological evolution, self-organizing systems, and distributed computing systems. I'm part of both the Digital Evolution Lab (Devolab) and the Software Engineering and Network Systems (SENS) lab. In the past I have researched network application fingerprinting and the use of machine learning systems for network intrusion detection.

I have also held a number of industry positions, including that of software architect at FactSet, embedded systems engineer at General Motors, and systems programmer for MSU's Identity Management team.
