Lab 1 Assignment

This assignment is due at the end of the lab session.

The purpose of this lab is to introduce LaTeX, RCS, and HTML, and to learn how to download and view documents through a web browser. These are tools that you will use throughout the semester in this course.  After completing this lab, you should be able to understand the basic concepts of each tool, know how to use them at basic level, and know where to get additional information about each tool.

Template Homework file (hw.tex)
The .eps to use in this exercise (sample.eps).

  1. Edit hw.tex to match hw.ps
  2. Use RCS while completing #1.  Specifically use the 'ci', 'co', and 'rcs' commands.
  3. Convert your LaTeX file to HTML using the latex2html command.
  4. Go to the CSE470 homepage and download the .pdf for ther Therac paper. Make sure you know how to save it and print it.
  5. If you haven't created your own web page, start it.  Make sure you include a title, some text about yourself, and several links to other pages.  Include a link to the CSE 470 homepage.
