CSE425, Introduction to Computer Security, provides an introduction to a variety of topics in computer security for juniors and seniors majoring in computer science and computer engineering.
Course topics include
- smartcard systems,
- critical infrastructure,
- usability and psychology,
- protocols,
- access controls,
- buffer overflow,
- cryptography and cryptanalysis,
- the Data Encryption Standard (DES),
- the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES),
- review of TCP/IP,
- network attack methods,
- firewalls, and
- biometrics.
