Leonardo Claudino investigates pattern recognition and applied machine learning, most of it towards computer vision and image processing tasks. He is an ex-student member of the Image Processing Group of DCC/UFMG and of the Computational Intelligence and Technology Lab of CPDEE/UFMG. He is currently working at the Pattern Recognition and Image Processing (PRIP) Lab of CSE/MSU under the supervision of Dr. Anil K. Jain. His research interests include image segmentation + classification and applications such as text patterns detection in images and biometrics.

Education
  • Graduate student of the Computer Science and Engineering Department of Michigan State University, USA (CSE-MSU);
  • M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering at Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil (PPGEE-UFMG);
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science at the same institution (DCC-UFMG).

It's alive and kicking again!

All you need is to input your car image (or other picture where you wanna find text content) and test it. The system will try to detect the text regions and will output you the results. You may also wanna change the parameters to suit the technique to your application/target problem. By the way, the Matlab codes are now available.
