Hammond
B3 Organ Description
For my component that I synthesized was the
Hammond B3 organ. In order to do this I
had to create various functions to produce and modify sine waves to imitate the
sounds created by an organ. With these
functions and notes given from a score file, Organ sounds were able to be
produced.
The Organ has the following functions and capabilities:

Tone wheels – sine wave
generators that make the sine wave that a normal organ makes

Draw Bars – settings
on a organ that produce its unique sound
·
Polyphony – play
multiple sounds at the same time
·
Vibrato – a modifying
by a percentage to create a vibrating sound
·
Envelope Generation – a
function using ADSR to start and stop the sound in order to avoid popping while
playing
· Leslie Speaker – introducing a delay and increasing/decreasing amplitude to give the effect of a Leslie speaker
