1. 2004 William C. Carter Award - IEEE & IFIP.
    This award is presented annually, with the citation, "to recognize an individual who has made a significant contribution to the field of dependable computing through his or her graduate dissertation research". This award is sponsored by IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Fault-Tolerant Computing and IFIP Working Group 10.4 on Dependable Computing and Fault Tolerance. The award honors the late William C. Carter, a key figure in the formation and development of the field of dependable computing.


  2. 2004 National Award for Outstanding Overseas Students- Ministry of Education of China.
    This award is presented annually, with the citation, "to recognize outstanding Chinese overseas self-financing students who have made excellent academic achievements". In the United States, there are 45 recipients, four of which major in computer sciences. In the University of Texas at Austin, I am the only winner. (co-recipient)

    This award is presented annually, with the citation, "to recognize outstanding graduate students for the pursuit and achievement of excellence in research. For this award, research is interpreted broadly and applicants are judged on the basis of outstanding contributions to their field of study". This award is sponsored by the University Co-op Society.
