I am a research assistant in the Software Engineering and Network Systems Laboratory at Michigan State University. My research interests are in evolutionary computation, software engineering, and mobile computing. My advisor is Betty H.C. Cheng.

Current research

My research focuses on building tools that detect unwanted behaviors in embedded systems software. To do this, we harness the power of evolutionary computation for efficiently exploring large solution spaces.

Past work

In my M.S. thesis, I developed an approach for automated refactoring that used genetic programming to introduce Gamma design patterns into existing software designs.

Before coming to MSU, I completed a BS in applied mathematics at Ferris State University. My emphasis was on operations research, computer science, and philosophy. While pursuing that degree, I worked for several years as a software engineer, security analyst, and I.T. manager.
