The U.S. Office of Naval Research announced an award to extend the RAPIDware project until 2006.  The project, started in 2001, is being conducted in the Software Engineering and Network Systems Laboratory by 5 CSE faculty members ( Philip McKinley , Kurt Stirewalt , Laura Dillon , Betty Cheng , and Sandeep Kulkarni ) and 10 graduate research assistants.  RAPIDware addresses the design of high-assurance, adaptable software to protect critical infrastructures from extreme operating conditions, component failures and cyber-attack.
