Chai and Jin received an award from ARDA to support their project on "Cohesive Multimodal Multimedia Question Answering" under the program AQUAINT phase II. This project will develop algorithms and systems that (1) provide a natural means for users to ask questions through a combination of multiple modalities; and (2) enable universal access to heterogeneous multimedia data through cross-media retrieval.
