Stockman's Computer Vision book now in Russian
CSE Professor
George C. Stockman
and University of Washington Professor,
Linda G. Shapiro,
co-authored the book, "Computer Vision", which was published
by Prentice Hall in 2001. A description of the book is at:

The Russian edition of the book has just been published and
is described in the book's forward
by Linda G. Shapiro and Geroge C. Stockman as follows:
"This book was written to provide a computer vision textbook for
undergraduates and beginning graduate students. We had three important
objectives. First, we needed to provide important background on basic topics
with proven value so students could go on to do work in this area. Second,
some advanced algorithms and applications are included so that both
undergraduate and graduate students could see some of the research frontier.
Last, but not least, we hoped to convey some of our excitement in working
in this field of computer vision, which has continued to progress even
faster than our expectations. We are delighted that Professors Boguslavsky
and Sokolov have produced a Russian edition of our book. We hope that
it will help provide a basis for more study of computer vision in Russia and
might enhance the collaboration between Russian and U.S. scientists
and engineers, who are sure to bring more progress in this field."
