Shailesh Saini Earns MSU 2004 Senior Class Council Outstanding Senior Award
Shailesh Saini has been honored by the MSU Senior Class Council for his outstanding contributions to Michigan State University and the East Lansing community. Shailesh receives the Outstanding Senior Award through the nomination of Dr. Anil Jain, Shailesh’s faculty advisor and mentor.
Shailesh currently serves as President of the Association of Computing Machinery, Vice President for Spartasoft and holds the position of MSU Microsoft Liaison. In addition to his significant leadership responsibilities, Shailesh is deeply committed to the student experience, the department of Computer Science and Michigan State University. Shailesh has supported students by orchestrating a help hour program to tutor students enrolled in CSE courses. Shailesh has also has worked with faculty to develop ideas for adding companies for participation in the capstone course. Shailesh consistently contributes significant time to all Engineering related events including the New Student Fall Colloquium, SET Day and the upcoming ADS program. He has organized and presented at several local high schools to promote MSU, Engineering and technology programs. Shailesh also serves as an ambassador to prospective students and makes himself available via email and phone to converse with students who are considering a Bachelor's Degree at MSU. Shailesh has also effectively used his connection with Microsoft to provide software and technical support to students at all levels of the CSE program.
The College of Engineering and Michigan State University is well served by this charismatic, motivational and thoughtful young man who will leave an indelible mark through his generous and tireless efforts on behalf of the university and will most assuredly become a connected alumnus. Shailesh’s immediate plans include graduate study. Shailesh has been accepted to programs at Michigan State University, the University of Michigan, Princeton and Stanford.
