Outstanding Undergraduate Students in CSE for 2005
The following CSE undergraduate students received College of
Engineering Academic Achievement Awards for outstanding academic
performance at MSU. Please let them know how much we appreciate their
hard work and contributions to our program.
Senior Award Winners:
Ali Abdollahi has a GPA of 4.0. Ali coordinated the Math Club,
where faculty and students come together to solve math problems. He
plans to pursue a PhD degree in Computer Science and Engineering
here at MSU.
Justin Hoffman has a GPA of 3.9. This is Justin's second time to be
recognized for Distinguished Academic Achievment (2004, 2005). He
received a scholarship from The Boeing Company for the 2004-2005
school year. In the last two years, he has worked as a freelance
web developer and as a software developer for Universal Map and IDV
Solutions.
Navid Aram Motlagh has a GPA of 3.92. While at MSU, he helped
design for a company called Global Perspectives, placing second at
regional level and competing at the state level on the Presentation
Management Team. He plans to spend the next two and a half years at
the Bahia Shrines in Haifa Israel, where he will be assisting with
computer correspondence.
Adam Todd has a GPA of 3.98. Adam participated in a professorial
assistantship for two years with Prof. Laura Dillon and in research
in the SENS Laboratory during the summer of his junior year. He is a
member of UPE. Last summer, Adam interned in DaimlerChrysler's IT
Department. He serves as a Help Desk Consultant for MSU's Academic
Computing and Networking Services. This is Adam's third time to be
recognized for Distinguished Academic Achievment (2003, 2004, 2005).
Adam plans to pursue a career in computer security where he can use
his background in business, criminal justice and computer science.
Currently, he is deciding between working with Crowe-Chizek in
computer security consulting, or entering into the Graduate Training
Program with the NSA.
Junior Award Winners:
Brian Gearhart has a GPA of 4.0.
Andrew Kreling has a GPA of 4.0. Andrew has worked with Advantage
Computer Services, LLC, writing database front-end and
synchronization software using Visual C++ and MySQL. He plans to
work as a Software Engineer, or perhaps become a Professor.
Sophomore Award Winners:
Andrew Gorczyca has a GPA of 3.96. He plans to obtain an internship
and is considering pursuing a graduate education.
These outstanding students will be great ambassadors for MSU in the
years to come!
