Graduating Students Celebrate Accomplishments
On December 11 th graduating seniors, M.S. and Ph.D. students celebrated their hard-earned accomplishments with family, faculty and friends at the bi-annual CSE Graduation Breakfast . The undergraduate speaker Art Covert gave a wonderful speech on his experiences here at MSU. A highlight that he mentioned was his active participation in the MSU Student Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). Arthur is staying with us to pursue a M.S. degree. Our graduate student speaker Jinghua Zhang talked about the commitment and perseverance needed to complete both her Master and Doctorate degrees here. She gave a heart-felt speech about reaching one's goals. She ended by saying, “I will carry gifts from the CSE Department with me more precious than the degree—they are gifts of independent research, lifelong learning and valued friendship!”
Fall 2004 Commencement recognized:
- 36 students completing a BS degree in Computer Science
- 29 students completing a BS degree in Computer Engineering
- 19 students completing a MS degree in Computer Science, and

Graduating students are taking positions with top companies and universities, and going on for graduate study.

CSE would like to thank Mr. Kevin Ohl, an executive with Crowe Chizek and Company LLC and a partner with Crowe Group LLP, for giving the graduating students the opportunity to vote where to direct his generous donation. Our graduates voted for the donation to be used at the Department's discretion. The CSE Graduation Breakfast is made possible through the generosity of Crowe Chizek and Company LLC, a top ten accounting and consulting firm. Thank you Mr. Ohl, Crowe Chizek and graduating students!
