Julie Louis-Benaglio receives 2nd CSE Distinguished Alumni Award

On May 7, Ms. Julie Louis-Benaglio was presented the Second Computer
Science and Engineering Distinguished Alumnus Award at the College of
Engineering Awards Banquet. This award recognizes an alumnus of the
Department who has distinguished herself/himself as a leader through
professional contributions, public service, and personal accomplishments.

Julie recently celebrated her 25 year anniversary with
Hewlett-Packard, where she is currently a Mission Critical Account
Support Consultant. As such, she delivers technical software account
support services to HP's Mission Critical/High Availability and
strategic accounts within Michigan. Her focus is on understanding the
customers' IT environments and business goals and on planning,
delivering and managing complex support solutions. Julie has been
awarded the MVP and Top Performer awards while employed at
Hewlett-Packard.

A graduate from Michigan State University (1979) with a BS in Computer
Science, Julie has maintained her support and allegiance with MSU by
being the Field Counselor for over 10 years to the MSU Student Chapter
of the Society of Women Engineers, a past member of the Alumni Board
of Directors, a member of the CPS/CSE Visiting Board and presently a
member of the Strategic Partners Council for CSE. She has also
established an endowment fund for the Department of Computer Science
and Engineering.

Julie is married to Jim who is a University of Michigan engineering
graduate. They have two wonderful daughters, Jessie and Jamie. Julie
enjoys sewing, reading, and crafts if she ever has any time to spare.
Jim joined Julie at the recognition ceremony on May 7.
