Wireless Communications and High Speed Networks (WCHSN)

Research Projects

The WCHSN (Wireless Communications and High Speed Networks Lab) Lab supports research projects in the area of mobile, wireless and high-speed communications. It sponsors both graduate and undergraduate research programs. The main themes of our current research are:

Ø     Design and performance evaluation of wireless, mobile, multimedia protocols (e.g., routing, MAC) for mobile ad hoc networks (i.e., wireless, multi-hop, self configuring networks);

Ø     Design of a Quality of Service framework for wireless LANS (WLANs) and mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs);

Ø     Improving SCTP performance over WLANs and MANETs.

Ø     Implementation and testing of wireless network protocols and applications using a wireless network testbed, which is based on commercial laptops and radios;

Ø     Development of wireless client-server technologies for ubiquitous multimedia communication and networking;

Ø     Transport of multimedia data over wireless networks;

Ø     Design and performance evaluation of protocols;

Ø     Sensor Network Applications;

Ø     Interfacing Sensor network applications with Overlay Networks;

cols (e.g., handoff, etc.) for wireless ATM (WATM);
