RAPIDware is a research project on the design and operation of
adaptive software. The project is being conducted in the Software Engineering
and Network Systems (SENS) Laboratory at Michigan State University
(MSU).
Specifically, RAPIDware addresses the design of
high-assurance, adaptive software to
protect critical infrastructures (e.g., financial networks, power
grids, transportation
systems, command and control environments) from extreme operating conditions,
component failures and cyber-attack. The project involves five MSU faculty members and ten
graduate research assistants.

RAPIDware is supported by a grant from the Department of the
Navy, Office of Naval Research under
its Critical Infrastructure Protection and High Confidence,
Adaptable
Software (CIP/SW) Program of the University Research Initiative
(URI). The project started in 2001 and extends though 2007.
