PRIP in the news


The Pattern Recognition and Image Processing (PRIP) lab, a world leader in biometric research, is working with law enforcement agencies to develop tools that will help identify crime suspects, disaster victims, and missing persons.

A current PRIP project is taking biometric research in a new direction. Anil Jain, Jung-Eun Lee, and Rong Jin are developing an automatic image retrieval system to identify scars, marks, and tattoos.

Their research was featured in the Lansing State Journal article MSU prof works on tattoo ID database.
