Brown featured in Google Summer of Code podcast


Titus Brown, assistant professor of computer science & engineering and microbiology & molecular genetics, is featured in a new Google Summer of Code podcast. Brown and James Tauber of MValent provide tips for mentoring students and discuss the impact that Google's open source projects have had on the Python programming community.

Brown and Tauber are both members of the Python Software Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to advancing open source technology related to the Python programming language.


Google Summer of Code (GsoC) is a program designed to introduce university students to open source development. This year, the program boasts 1125 student contributors and 175 Free and Open Source projects. Brown has served as a mentor for GsoC and the Google Highly Open Participation Contest, a project that aims to encourage young people to participate in open source software development.
