IEEE Computer Society TCDP
Travel Support Grants
IEEE Computer Society's Technical
Committee on Distributed Processing (TCDP, which sponsors ICDCS), would
like encourage graduate student participation in the ICDCS conference
and affiliated workshops by partially or fully funding the travel
costs of individuals who would otherwise be unable to attend the conference.
Who should apply
Any graduate student who is co-author
on a regular ICDCS paper, regardless of nationality, may apply. Graduate students with only
workshop papers are not eligible for this grant. TCDP will pay travel
and accommodation costs up to $1,000 based on the need. However, full conference
registration is required for each awardee. We anticipate twelve (12) and
fifteen (15) awards. The
selection process will give preference to graduate students without sufficient travel funding.
How to apply
Applications and supporting letters
for a student travel grant should be emailed to Professor Jie Wu at jie@cse.fau.edu
and cc to Wei Lou at wlou@cse.fau.edu,
as soon as possible, but no later than April 1, 2003. Award announcements will be made around
April 15, 2003. Applications should include:
1. The application should
include the title of the paper and the need for the travel grant (air fare
and other anticipated cost).
2. Applicant's school: we
want to balance funding students in U.S. schools and those in non-U.S. schools.
3. A letter of recommendation
from the student's advisor: The advisor should clarify whether
other sources of funding
are available.
