ICDCS 2003 Hotel and Travel Information


ICDCS 2003 will be held on the beautiful campus of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.  A block of rooms has been reserved at a downtown hotel, approximately one mile from the conference site.  Shuttle service will be provided between the hotel and the campus, although the distance is also walkable.

A block of rooms has been reserved for ICDCS 2003 at the following hotel.  A shuttle will be available to bring attendees to and from the conference site on the Brown University campus.

To make reservations, please call the reservation line at +1-888-887-7955 and use the keywords "IEEE Computer Society" to identify the block of rooms.  The nightly rate is $139.00 for a room with one king- or two queen-sized beds.  The cutoff deadline for making reservations on this block of rooms is April 25, although the hotel informs us that rooms at that rate could sell out earlier.  We advise attendees to make their reservations as early as possible.

AIRPORTS

It is recommended that attendees fly directly to Providence's T. F. Green Airport, if possible.  Another option is Boston's Logan International Airport.

T. F. Green Airport, Providence, Rhode Island
The nearest airport is T.F. Green Airport in Providence, which is served by most major airlines (including Southwest) and is 20 minutes away from the hotel. A taxi will cost around $25.  An Airport Limousine Shuttle is also available at $9.00 per person, each way.  The shuttle departs from the airport on the hour, 5:00 a.m. till 11:00 p.m.  Apparently, there is little need to make a reservation in advance, but the phone number is +1-401-737-2868.  A ticket booth (Airport Taxi/Providence Shuttle) is located in the baggage claim area.  Simply purchase a ticket for the next available shuttle.


Logan International Airport, Boston, Massachusetts
Another airport option is is Boston Logan International Airport, which is (at best) a one-hour drive from the hotel.  Depending on traffic, the drive could be much longer.  Rental cars are available at the airport.  In addition, a fairly convenient bus service is available between Logan Airport and Providence -- see http://www.bonanzabus.com/profxlog.htm for details.
