Important!! Machines with DVD burner are "Patella" in "Bone" Lab(Room 3203) and "Python" in "Snake" Lab(Room 3340)
Also, the DVD burners are compatible only with DVD+ R or RW
Burning files on to DVDs in the labs
  1. Find the files to burn:
    1. Locate the files you downloaded on the hard drive.
  1. Move the files to a temporary directory:
    1. On the Desktop click on the "my computer" icon.Double-click on the C: drive and go to the Temp directory.
    2. Copy the all the files into this directory (drag and drop it into the Temp directory)
  1. Prepare to burn a CD:

    1. Start Roxio Easy CD creator (Start -> Programs -> Burn CD & DVDs with Roxio)


    2. If this is your first time using Easy CD, you will see the following two pop-ups:
      For the 1st one, check "Don't show me again" and then choose OK.
      For the 2nd one, check "Do not show this reminder again" and then choose "Remind me later"




    3. You want to burn files onto DVD. So, move mouse over "make a CD" -> select "dataDVD project"


    4. You should see the following window. Navigate to the "c:\temp" directory it says "Select source files:"
      Now you should drag and drop the files you want to burn to the lower window.


    5. After you have moved all the files you want to burn, click on the red button to start the burning process


    6. You will see the "Record DVD Setup" box. Ensure that the settings are as follows then click on "Start Recording".


    7. Depends on the total size of the files, may take up to 20~ minutes for a full DVD. Wait until it's 100%, click "OK" and congratulations, you have burned a DVD:

  1. Clean up:
    1. Delete all the file(s) you placed in C:\Temp


Copying DVDs in the labs
  1. Insert the DVD you want to burn into the DVD rom drive (the top one)
  1. Insert the blank DVD into the DVD-R drive (the bottom one)
  1. Prepare to burn a CD:

    1. Start Roxio Easy CD creator as above

    2. You want to copy DVD. So, move mouse over "disc copier" -> select "disc copier "


    3. You will see for following message regarding copyright, check "Don't show this again" then click "OK".


    4. After that, the media will be tested, just wait...


    5. If you have correctly placed in the source media and blank DVD. You'll see green letters showing they are compatible, go ahead and click "Copy"


    6. The media will be tested again, just wait...


    7. Again the copying process may take up to 20~ minutes, when finished, click "OK"
