John,
you seem to have room for 

"experience-dependent" processes (i.e. learning, which many
		       would say we know how to model and achieve).

"genetics"  (e.g. how to build a computer from plans, I guess we can
	    do that too).

So what's the problem? Aren't we done?
Is development really just the 2 things above?

I thought the real mystery was ---

"experience-expectant" processes.
