Liu receives funding for multiple projectsXiaoming Liu, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University, received funding for two projects in the area of computer vision for agriculture. These projects are:
- Project GREEEN, Michigan's plant agriculture initiative, has provided funding on automatic sugar beet disease rating from the images captured in the field. This is funded by the Michigan Sugar Company.
- Herrick Foundation from Detroit, MI has provided funding on automatic fish segmentation and counting from videos. The long term goal of this aquaculture project is to automate the critical components of fish farming, such as feeding, fish behavior monitoring, and yield prediction.
