| We would like to extend a special thanks on behalf of the Computer Science department to our alumna, Katy Colbry, for her informative training seminar on teamwork, which was sponsored by Tau Beta Pi. Katy received her BS degree in 1999 and has since received her PhD from U of M. She is currently the Director of Communications and Development for St. John’s Student Parish. Thanks also to her husband, current CSE PhD student Dirk Colbry, for his assistance during the seminar. We appreciate their valuable contribution to our students and the department.

Engineering Futures is taught by volunteers from Tau Beta Pi, the Engineering Honor Society, and uses professional training materials donated by Interact Performance Systems. While companies like Interact charge thousands of dollars to provide these training sessions to Fortune 500 companies, the Engineering Futures program is free to students. The Team Chartering session focuses on developing and practicing skills for working effectively in teams. Engineering Futures sessions are hands-on learning experiences, not classroom lectures, and have been taught for nearly 25 years, reaching tens of thousands of students across the country. |
