The Pattern Recognition and Image Processing (PRIP) lab, a world leader in biometric research, is working with law enforcement agencies to develop tools that will help identify crime suspects, disaster victims, and missing persons. A current PRIP project is taking biometric research in a new direction. Anil Jain, Jung-Eun Lee, and Rong Jin are developing an automatic image retrieval system to identify scars, marks, and tattoos.
