| The 2007 CSE Poster Workshop took place on Friday, April 13. Thirty-eight groups of student researchers displayed their posters in the third floor hallways of the Engineering Building and explained their work as part of an annual tradition that promotes recognition of student research.
CSE recognized its Corporate Partners Liquid Web, Sircon, and TechSmith during the awards presentation and thanked them for their support and participation. Poster awards were given in three categories: Presentation 1st place: Karthik Nandakumar and Abhishek Nagar (Advisor: Anil Jain) Secure Fingerprint Authentication Using Fuzzy Vault 2nd place: Shaolin Qu (Advisor: Joyce Chai) An Exploration of Eye Gaze in Spoken Language Processing for Multimodal Conversational Interfaces 3rd place: Ming Wu (Advisor: Rong Jin) Semi-supervised Text Categorization by Directed Graph Research 1st place: Jared DeMott (Advisors: Richard Enbody and William Punch) Revolutionizing the Field of Grey-box Attack Surface Testing with Evolutionary Fuzzing 2nd place: Yi Chen (Advisor: Anil Jain) Touchless Finger Imaging: Image Quality, Enhancement and Matching 3rd place: Loretta M. Macklem (Advisor: William Punch) Fitness Moderated Complexification (FMC) for Controlling GP Tree Growth Overall 1st place: Yi Chen (Advisor: Anil Jain) Touchless Finger Imaging: Image Quality, Enhancement and Matching 2nd place: Jared DeMott (Advisors: Richard Enbody and William Punch) Revolutionizing the Field of Grey-box Attack Surface Testing with Evolutionary Fuzzing 3rd place: Pavan Kumar Mallapragada (Advisors: Rong Jin and Anil Jain) SemiBoost: Boosting for Semi-supervised Learning Awards were provided by Liquid Web, Sircon, TechSmith, Motorola, SAIC and Auto-Owners Insurance.
